Our Training and Awareness Services
Serious Youth Violence TrainingWorking with gangs and Serious Violence is a complex issue; the benefit of your intervention depends on the awareness, skills and experience of your staff.
SMART Training and Consultancy can work with you to improve all three areas through training and ongoing consultancy services. The feedback we receive continually demonstrates that practitioners who have been on our training have been able to improve their practice and better effectively respond to the needs of the young people they work with. |
Sexual Exploitation TrainingChild sexual exploitation (CSE) is a type of sexual abuse in which children are sexually exploited for money, power or status.
Children or young people may be tricked into believing they're in a loving, consensual relationship. They might be invited to parties and given drugs and alcohol. They may also be groomed online. Our training can help those working with young deemed at risk of CSE and SE to increase their awareness and improve their outcomes of the young people they work. |
Managing and Dealing with Challenging BehaviourConflict can create all sorts of complex emotions for the practitioner, service user, young person or families.. Conflict can take place on a multitude of levels and can be exacerbated within groups and different or unfamiliar settings such as 'residentials'.
This course aims to equip participants with the understanding of the background to conflict and the contribution they can make to either calming or escalating a confrontation. During the training day participants will engage with interactive material, learning and practising key skills to build their confidence and to maintain composure whilst de-escalating conflict. |
